Notes: 
  1. Cash prizes listed are minimum. Cash may increase depending on number of entries. 
  2. The Elite Women State Championship Race will include a Women Masters subcategory. Women Masters will be scored separately for State Championship medals, but together with Elite Women for prizes (total of 6 places for prizes). A rider in this race must race as an Elite OR Master. Women Masters are 35 years and older. 
  3. Minimum field size is 5. Promoter reserves the right to combine fields and reduce the prize list to 3 places for the combined fields if a category has less than 5 racers. 
  4. Junior men and women will be scored separately for State Championship Medals.
Entries: All categories $20, except Juniors $5. No Late Fees!! Registration opens at 7:45AM the day of the race. No pre-registration is necessary. Registration for each category closes 15 minutes before the race start. Annual or one-day USCF licenses are required. One-day USCF licenses will be available for $5 at registration. If you want to do an additional race the entry fee is $10 for seniors and $5 for juniors.
Course: Buena Vista Park - A wide and fast Euro-style circuit on mostly hard-packed dirt and some grass. A shorter, tougher course than last year.
Rules: HAVE FUN! USCF cyclocross rules apply. CYCLOCROSS AND MOUNTAIN BIKES ARE WELCOME. Bike and wheel changes are allowed in the designated pit areas. Riders must wear helmets at all times when on the bike. Races at Guajome Park may be cancelled due to rain. Riders shall stay on the course or existing trails. Finally, please respect the venue and the locals. We want to put on more races!
Categories: The following are suggested categories for various ability levels and experience. Please enter a category that will challenge you and is fair to others (Sandbaggers will be identified and may be subject to public ridicule). Also consider that the prizes will generally be better for the higher categories. Men’s D: Beginners, riders new to bicycle racing and cyclocross. Men’s C: USCF cat 5 and NORBA Beginners. Riders with some CX experience. Men’s B: USCF cats 3, 4, 5 and NORBA Sport riders. Experienced CX riders. Elite Men and Women: USCF Pro & Cat 1-3, NORBA Pro, Expert & Sport. These are the fast ones. Women’s B: Beginners, USCF cat 4 and NORBA Beginners.
Location/Directions: The race is at Buena Vista Park in Vista, CA (about 40 miles north of San Diego). 
  • From I-5, take Hwy 78 east to the Melrose exit. Turn right on Melrose and drive south about 2.5 miles. Turn right on Shadowridge Drive. The entrance to the park is ¼ mile on the left. 
  • From I-15, take Hwy 78 West to the Sycamore Exit. Turn left on Sycamore for about a ¼ mile and then turn right on Shadowridge Drive. Stay on Shadowridge. Once you cross Melrose (about 1.5 miles), the entrance to the park is ¼ mile on the left.
Series Points/Scoring: Points will be awarded to the top 10 riders in each category. A rider’s points from his best 4 races will count toward the series scoring. Points are not transferable between categories. Points for 1st through 10th place will be awarded per the following schedule: 100, 80, 65, 55, 45, 35, 25, 15, 10, 5.
